    Compensation:

    $20 – $45+ per hour

    Description:

    We are hiring for Journeyman Residential HVAC Installers. We are a family-owned HVAC company located in San Jose that has been in business since 1983. We are looking for highly motivated individuals that enjoy being part of a team but work well individually.

    Experience:

    • HVAC: 5 years (Preferred)
    • EPA Type II (Preferred)

    Skills & Requirements:

    • Residential HVAC system installation experience – FAU, A/C, cut-ins, duct layout, ductless, heat pumps, and dual fuel – all makes and models; All work required to be code compliant with City/County and Title 24 requirements.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude, and ability to perform regular manual labor
    • Must be able to follow routine instructions
    • Must have a great attitude and effective communication skills with coworkers, management, and customers
    • Must be honest, reliable & hardworking
    • Clean driver’s license required
    • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
    • Must have own hand tools
    • Must be willing to work after hours and occasional weekends
    • Please note: Crawling under houses and in attics is part of the daily job

    Compensation:

    $30 – $50+ per hour

    Description:

    Diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems and lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions.

    Duties:

    • Complete all general HVAC in-home, service calls.
    • Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
    • Ask proper lifestyle questions to troubleshoot heating and cooling system malfunctions.
    • Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
    • Explain replacement opportunities for aging, inefficient or underperforming systems.
    • Understand your service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
    • Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
    • Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure the overall success of the business.
    • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck.
    • Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows, and retreats.
    • Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
    • Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback, and options sheets.

    Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

    HVAC: 1 year (Preferred)

    HVAC Service: 2 years (Preferred)

    Skills & Requirements:

    • Licensed with knowledge of local HVAC codes and the ability to make on-the-job applications.
    • Develop a proven track record in heating and cooling systems including the ability to draw simple diagrams, read blueprints and other diagrams.
    • Continued education and training to obtain NATE certification.
    • Clean, safe driving record.
    • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communications.
    • High integrity with advanced social skills and ability to make solid connections.
    • Strong desire to be a better technician tomorrow than you are today.

  • How long will my HVAC system last?

    A typical HVAC system lasts anywhere from 10 to 25 years with proper maintenance. It will depend on whether you’ve had it serviced regularly as well as how often you use it. To ensure a more robust system, call for a qualified HVAC technician at least twice a year to maintain your equipment.
